Cleaning Instructions: Never Touch the Artwork. Clean with compressed air only, following instructions on the can.

Keep your artworks out of direct light. Light, all light, accelerates the deterioration of papers, and can fade pigments, whether these are paints or inks. Both sunlight and fluorescent light contain harmful UV (ultraviolet) rays. Incandescent light, the kind in most homes, is diffused when it reaches the artwork indirectly and is far less harmful.

If you have to store your artwork for any period of time before you can get it framed, be certain that you store it flat (so that it won't develop a permanent curl, or warp).

Do not store or display the artwork in damp areas.

Heat and excessive dryness can also be harmful to artworks.

Be very careful when handling the artwork, even if it is varnished. The natural skin oils and acids on your hands can cause serious damage to the paints, inks, and varnishes on your artwork, seeping through to cause further damage to the support surfaces beneath the artwork. This is why museums and galleries the world over always demand: "PLEASE DO NOT TOUCH THE ART".

Damage to artworks, originals or reproductions, is permanent. If any artwork in your collection has suffered damage, secure the services of a trained art conservator - please do not attempt repair or control of the damage yourself.

Framing and hanging artwork correctly is the best way to protect it. If you're unsure how to do this, have a reputable professional handle it for you, or at least advise you on how to do it yourself.
