Green Pond

"Green Pond" Orlando, FL 2007

This image is of a swamp not a pond. The title of this image is for obvious reasons; people prefer to look at a horse, not at a donkey. While I was traveling in my car with some friends, we past what seem to me to be a green pond. Up ahead down the road there was a garage sale that my friends wanted to stop at. While they browsed at the items on display, I took the opportunity and walked down the road to capture this interesting image. As I set up my camera the clouds were opening allowing the rays of sunlight to illuminate the center of this scene. There is as much death in the scene as there is life in the swamp. This image inspires us to embrace the cycle of life and death.

A swamp is a wetland that features permanent inundation of large areas of land by shallow bodies of water vegetated with woody plants (trees and shrubs).
